RAGHUNATHPUR STEEL & ALLIED INDUSTRIAL PARK
 
WBIDC which plays a pioneering role in provision of industrial infrastructure in West Bengal has set up several sector specific industrial parks to encourage the growth and expansion in these sectors. WBIDC is setting up a steel and allied industrial park in Raghunathpur which is an emerging new hub for industrial investments in the Purulia district of West Bengal. Located close to major national highway, railway and airport networks, connected to large labour markets and power-packed with infrastructure facilities, Raghunathpur Steel and Allied Industrial Park is home to Jai Balaji Industries Ltd, Adhunik Corporation Ltd, Shyam Steel Industries Ltd. and DPSC Ltd.

About Raghunathpur
Raghunathpur is a subdivision and town in Purulia district of West Bengal having a total population of 21,812 (in 2001).
The district of Purulia which forms a part of the western plateau consists of a number of hills, some of which are fairly high and exhibit undulating topography.
Joychandi Pahar, 3 km from Raghunathpur, is a popular tourist centre and major attraction for rock climbing. Joychandi Pahar rail station is on the Asansol –Adra section of South Eastern Railway.
Banks like SBI, UBI, Central Bank of India, Bank of India etc. have their branches at Raghunathpur providing good banking facilities in this region.
 
 
 
Locational Advantage
The Raghunathpur Steel & Allied Industrial Park is located 255 Km west from Kolkata and 119 Km east from Ranchi. The Park is well connected by roads with Kolkata and other nearby towns like Durgapur, Asansol etc.
Strategically located the Park has easy connectivity to the National Highways - NH 32 and NH 60A.
The Park is also well connected by railways. Adra is the nearest railway station. High accessibility with a railway line in the near vicinity and proximity to the upcoming Damodar Valley Corporation power plant are the advantages of this Industrial Park.
The nearest airport is Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata which is at a distance of 255 kilometres. Durgapur Aerotropolis, India’s first aerotropolis project which is being developed in association with Singapore's Changi Airports International is located close to the park.

Details of the Industrial Park
The Raghunathpur Steel and Allied Industrial Park proposed over an area of approx. 7420.24 acres.
Possession of 2914.99 acres of land in the park has already been taken.
The Park is expected to generate about 7,000 direct employment and 30,400 indirect employment.
The Industrial Park is expecting the investment of apprx. Rs. 28,417 crore including the major investments from 3 iron and steel companies — the Jai Balaji Industries, the Adhunik Steel, the Shyam Steel Industries Ltd. and 1 power project from DPSC Ltd which have been allotted total land of area 2715.52 acres.
All prospective investors are entitled to incentives available as per The West Bengal State Support for Industry, 2008 (with amendment in 2011).
 
Infrastructural Support
All the plots within the Park will be connected through an arterial road or internal roads.
Water supply in most projects will be supplied by DVRRC.
Power supply for the industrial units will be provided by WBSEDC/DVC and power tariff will be as per the existing tariff plans. However all major projects have proposed their own captive power plants.
Other basic infrastructural facilities like water, sewerage and drainage, street lights etc will be provided.
An agreement has already been signed between Jai Balaji Industries Ltd. and DVC regarding railway corridor issue. Adhunik Corporation Ltd has completed detailed Project Report for railway line and feasibility report has been submitted to Railways.

WBSEDCL has done site inspection for supply of bulk power to ACL’s integrated steel plant

It will set up 1.1 MTPA Steel and 150MW Power Plant
It has received 610.00 acres of land recently
Land approved for acquisition – 1200acres
Expert Committee on Steel & Allied Industries has recommended this project
Clearance is obtained from MOEF
DVRRC has allocated 12.67 MGD water
Expected to generate a total employment of about 2110
 
DPSC Ltd
Proposed investment of about Rs. 3,024 crore
It has been allotted 155.50 acres of to set up 2X270 MW Thermal Power Project
Expected to generate a direct employment of about 450 and an indirect employment of about 400
