West Bengal Government gives Coal India revised plan on Aerotropolis
The state government held a high level meeting chaired by Shri Asok Mohan Chakravorti to address the issues raised by Coal India Ltd. relating to locking up of underground coal reserves due to the Aerotropolis project. Mr. Partha Sarathi Bhattacharyya, Chairman Coal India Ltd., Dr. Sabyasachi Sen, Principal Secretary Industry & Commerce, Dr. Subrata Gupta, MD, WBIDC , Shri S Chakraborty, Chairman-cum-Managing Director, ECL Ltd. representatives of BAPL attended the meeting. 

During the meeting the WBIDC made a presentation suggesting a revised plan for the Aerotropolis project. The boundary of the proposed airport city has been redrawn to minimize the impact on present and future mining of coal in the area.

The meeting was fruitful with both sides intent on resolving the issues. The members would again meet shortly to freeze a solution. In the meantime, the technical personnel from all sides would have meetings to understand the revised proposal.
